Central Vacuum Repair Edmonton - Repair of Built-in Central vacuum cleaners.

Having asked the question about who is the main assistant in cleaning your apartment or house, we think most of the answers will be reduced to the word “built-in vacuum cleaner”! This built-in device is probably one of the three leaders in the use of engineering systems with air conditioning and ventilation. And how sad it is when this assistant breaks down…..

Specialists of the service center “GoTech Appliance Repair” carry out qualified repairs of built-in vacuum cleaners of all world manufacturers on the market, based on a technically competent approach using the necessary spare parts. In most cases, the restoration of engineering equipment in this category is carried out in our workshops, so the faulty device will be delivered directly to us. The combination of extensive experience and effective solutions allows you to achieve consistently positive results, quickly returning Your assistant to work. Our specialists know all the secrets of effective repair of built-in vacuum cleaners, which will be the basis for optimal solutions to any technical problems.

The most common breakdowns

If you follow the operating rules specified in the technical documentation, modern built-in vacuum cleaners can work without repair for 10 or more years. However, like any intensively used engineering equipment, these devices are subject to various risks that lead to the repair of built-in vacuum cleaners of varying complexity. So, if you notice that the efficiency of dust suction has significantly decreased, or there is a spark inside the vacuum cleaner case, then it is necessary to repair the vacuum cleaner offered by our workshops.

Central Vacuum Repair Edmonton - The main factors that lead to the breakdown of Central Vacuum cleaners:

  • power search;
  • continuous operation of the built-in Central vacuum cleaner in active or passive mode, which leads to engine overheating;
  • continuous operation in areas with high humidity;
  • failure to clean the filter;
  • unacceptable bending of working hoses;
  • ingress of foreign objects inside the unit or into the hose;
  • natural wear of carbon brushes, springs and other parts
  • getting into the pipeline of the Central dust removal system of construction debris

All defects that occur during operation are divided into two types – electrical and mechanical failures. Therefore, during the repair work, our technicians use the necessary measuring devices to accurately diagnose and fix the problem.

Like any engineering equipment that operates on the basis of Electromechanical processes, the built-in vacuum cleaner needs regular maintenance work to help avoid unscheduled repairs. If necessary, our specialists are ready to carry out the necessary preventive measures that increase the degree of reliability and reduce the risk of failure.

INSTALLATION DIAGRAM OF THE BUILT-IN VACUUM CLEANER. FEATURES OF THE UNIT.

The installation of a built-in vacuum cleaner begins with the development of the project. First of all, you need to determine the length of the cleaning hose. If the area of the house does not exceed 250-300 sq. m., then, as a rule, a 7-meter hose is used. If this is a large cottage with an area of 300 sq. m., it makes sense to use a 9-meter hose. Cleaning hoses with a length of 12 meters or more are rarely used, most often in warehouses, exhibitions, etc.

Having determined the length of the cleaning hose, you can calculate the number of air outlets for the future centralized dust removal system. Sockets are distributed in such a way that the cleaning hose can reach anywhere in the home, but there should not be too many of them. Sockets should not be located next to each other. Most often, air outlets are installed near the doors, so that several rooms can be removed from one point. If the house has several floors, then at least one outlet should be located near the stairs, so that it is convenient to remove this very staircase.

With the selection of the installation location of the power unit, things are a little easier. There aren’t many requirements. The unit is always installed outside the residential area. Furnace, storage room, garage, balcony – any utility room. This is not even a requirement for installation, but one of the main advantages of a Central vacuum cleaner-the noise from a working vacuum cleaner will not be heard by people in the house at all. It is also advisable to place the power unit in a room that has a common wall with the street. This is necessary to ensure that the exhaust pipe of the built-in vacuum cleaner is as short as possible. The power units offered by Clean-House can be placed on the street, the only requirement is protection from precipitation.

When all the points are defined, you can design the duct line. The main requirement is the simplicity of the route. It should be as short as possible and have a minimum of bends. It is worth noting that without seeing the object live, without having information about the location of other engineering networks, it is very difficult to accurately design the air duct system of the built-in vacuum cleaner. The pipe itself is rigid, and the system fittings are also rigid. Moreover, they do not differ from a variety of angles. There are bends of 30, 45, and 90 degrees. Therefore, if there are irregularities or obstacles in the form of elements of another engineering network ( most often water supply and Sewerage) on the way of laying air ducts, the path of laying can change dramatically.

Having received a ready-made project of a centralized dust removal system, you can start the installation. The installation itself takes place in at least two stages.

The first stage is hidden work, that is, laying air ducts, cables, and installation of mounting frames for sockets. It is best to carry out these works before laying the screed, Underfloor heating, and before plastering. In principle, you can dilute the highway after, but then you will have to smash the already plastered walls and cut the already filled screed. First, this is additional work, which means additional costs. Second, you will have to invite the plasterers again to do the strobe lights and actually do the same job twice. And this is again an additional cost of labor and materials. When the entire line of the built-in vacuum cleaner is laid, the control cable is stretched, you can safely fill the screed, plaster the walls and wait for the finishing of the room.

The second stage is the installation of decorative frames of sockets and other accessories, as well as the installation of the power unit. This stage of work, in principle, can be done with your own hands and it is not limited in time. Pneumatic sockets can be installed both immediately after plastering the walls, and after settling in a ready-made house. It all depends on the desire and capabilities of the customer.

The first stage of installing a built-in vacuum cleaner is the most time-consuming. In addition to gluing pipes and placing sub-sockets, installers will also have to perform serious construction work. Rarely there are objects where you do not need to drill a wall or ceiling, where you do not need to cut a pipe for the outlet of a pneumatic outlet or a riser. The outer diameter of the air duct of a built-in vacuum cleaner is usually 52 mm. Therefore, the strobe under it is made at least 6 cm wide, and the same depth. Holes for the pipe are drilled with a diameter of at least 52 mm. Here you need to take into account that in addition to the pipe itself, you also need to lay a cable in the corrugation.

After completing the preparatory part, you can start gluing the air ducts. First of all, the supply to the power unit is laid. From it there is already a highway to all points of the future Central vacuum cleaner. The most important thing is not to make a mistake with the direction of the system taps, otherwise, when starting the system, swirls will form in the pipe, which will significantly reduce the suction force of the built-in vacuum cleaner. It is also necessary to clean the pipe from burrs that can cause blockage of the entire centralized dust removal system.

After gluing the entire highway, you can start laying the control cable, with which the built-in vacuum cleaner will turn on and off. The wire is usually laid directly near the pipe, if it goes on the floor, where the screed will then be filled, it is better to hide it in the corrugation. It is also advisable to avoid twisting the cable in places where it will be difficult to reach after the final finishing of the premises.

There are several ways to check the tightness of a paved highway. If the unit is installed immediately after laying the air ducts, the easiest way is to turn off all the exits, start the vacuum cleaner and listen to the entire route. If there is a gap somewhere, you will immediately find it by the characteristic singing. The more powerful the vacuum cleaner, the louder the hiss. If the unit is not installed immediately, the entire system can be vacuumed. If the pressure in the pipe is maintained, then the system is sealed. The integrity of the electrical control circuit is checked by a conventional multimeter with the “ring” function.

After completing the work of the first stage, you can fill the screed, plaster the walls, and continue finishing the premises. It is worth noting that upon completion of the wall decoration, they must either be sunk into the wall or be flush with it. You can extend the socket, but you can’t shorten it. If, before installing the sockets, the mounting frames protrude from the wall, then you will have to seriously think about how to get rid of the gap between the socket and the wall.

Main criteria for choosing a built-in - Central vacuum cleaner

The main indicator by which you need to choose a built-in vacuum cleaner is the maximum coverage area, that is, the maximum area of a house or apartment on which the built-in vacuum cleaner is able to provide the declared suction force at any point of the home. If the area of your house is more than allowed, then at the farthest points the Central vacuum cleaner simply will not suck up garbage with the required force, which will lead to a deterioration in the quality of cleaning. The only way out in this case is to buy a more powerful unit. Also, the suction force is affected by the number of air outlets, which cause additional losses to the air duct line. Another limitation that affects the operation of the Central vacuum cleaner is the maximum allowable length of the duct branch, that is, the distance from the cleaning nozzle, taking into account the connected hose, to the exhaust port on the facade of the building. The length is calculated taking into account the losses at the bends of the route and the duct material.

These three requirements must be strictly observed. All of them must be executed simultaneously. For example, if the house itself is small, but the route in it is laid very intricately, with a large number of branches, then the unit is selected according to the indicator “maximum permissible length of the air duct branch”. If the Central dust removal system uses the Hide-a-Hose system, then the power unit also needs to be more powerful. However, all this is taken into account when designing the system, and a qualified engineer will definitely select the right power unit for you.

An important criterion for selecting a built-in vacuum cleaner is the “filtration Method”. This parameter does not affect the quality of cleaning, since all built-in vacuum cleaners do their job equally well. All models of any manufacturer completely remove the collected dirt and dust from the room, leaving large debris in the dust collector, and throwing microscopic particles out. But the method of cleaning this very dust collector differs significantly from different manufacturers.

With the “full cyclone” filtration system, the passing air is purified only by the centrifugal force of the vortex created by the funnel. No filters are used at all. That is, large debris settles in the dust collector, and microscopic dust is removed along with the air. In this type of vacuum cleaner, to clean the dust collector, simply remove it, pour the contents into a garbage bag and hang the dust collector back. Quick and easy. A significant advantage of the “full cyclone” is the absence of dependence of the suction force on the fullness of the dust collector and the contamination of filters. The disadvantage is that since the garbage is not compressed in the dust collector, it often needs to be emptied. An example of aggregates with this type of filtration is the American Vacuflo True Cyclonic series.

The hybrid filtration method is a combination of cyclonic cleaning and filters. Filters can be very different: disk filters, filter cartridges, filter bags, but the essence is the same-to protect the engine from dust. As a rule, such filters are intended for reusable use. Periodically, they need to be taken out, washed, and dried. The procedure, in principle, is simple, but it will have to be done since the suction force drops significantly when the filter is dirty. In addition, after a while, it still needs to be changed to a new one. The disadvantage of this type of filtration is obvious – it is the need for periodic maintenance of the built-in vacuum cleaner. One of the advantages is that the price for such a unit is usually lower. Examples Are Cyclovac, Blizzard, Disan, Vacumaid, And Beam.

The third type of filtration is air purification using filters only. The main drawback is a drop in the suction force as the filter becomes dirty, and as a result, the need for periodic cleaning or replacement. The filter can be presented as a reusable cartridge (Systemair) or as a bag.

The use of replaceable filter bags brings with it only one drawback – it is the need to buy these same filter bags. The price for one varies from five to fifteen cu. However, a single-use filter bag is enough for a long time, for four to five months, depending on the intensity of cleaning.

Currently, there are almost no built-in vacuum cleaners with a non-replaceable bag for collecting dust. The disadvantages of this type of filtration are obvious: shaking out a 30-liter cloth bag is not a pleasant procedure, and the suction force drops significantly when using this type of dust collector.

by Marla Yaworski on GoTech Appliance Repairs

I had a washing machine that was having issues. I had previously contacted another company, who took 1.5 hours to diagnose the problem and then inform me that it could not be fixed until late December, and with a smirk, I was handed a quote for the job. I happened to come across this company quite by chance. I booked an appointment time and was sent a text previous to the arrival time to confirm. The technician, John, was amazing. He arrived on time and was extremely conscientious about donning gloves and a mask for safety. I left him to find the problem, but in less than 5 minutes he had a diagnosis. He showed me how to access the error codes on my machine and then continued to explain what the problem was. He had the machine fixed in less than an hour. I was extremely impressed. When chatting, I discovered that he also repairs Samsung appliances. I have called so many companies that refuse to repair these. Again, in very little time, John diagnosed and explained the problem. He not only fixed my fridge but took out all of the food, cleaned out the water from inside, replaced the food, and vacuumed the entire area. The cost of fixing both my washer and my fridge was less than the quote I received from the other company to repair only my washer. The service, expertise, and value are outstanding. I am so happy, I found this company and would highly recommend them.
